I am self-taught. That is not easy. Sometimes it’s fun. But it’s mostly just a loop of “I want to do this. How do I do this? Why isn’t it working? How do I fix it? Hooray.” For the longest time StackOverflow<\/a> was my go to. I still do a LOT of “[language] how to [thing I need to do]”. Then about three or four years ago I dipped my toe in the Discord waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I was making a web application to recap my game experience in PUBG. The PUBG API server was very helpful and the community was encouraging. Fast forward five years or so, and I’m only now discovering and joining some really great communities in Discord.
